For the second year running, professional female players will be heading for the grass courts at Canoe Lake Leisure in Southsea to take part in the Fuzion 100 Southsea Trophy. The ITF Pro-Circuit women’s event is being held this year on 26-29 June.

The nearest tournament  to Fishbourne to see professional players in action, the (rather wet) inaugural event last year saw 16 players battle for the title on Canoe Lake’s grass courts, with Brits Laura Robson and Katie Boulter providing plenty for home fans to cheers about. Fingers crossed the weather will be kinder this year.

Tickets cost between £7.50-12.50 and you can book them by phoning 0844 581 1404 on Mon-Fri 9am-7pm, Sat-Sun 9am-5pm. Wheelchair tickets with free adjacent carer’s seat can be booked by phoning the same number.

The ladies-only Fuzion 100 Southsea Trophy is the last of four grass-court tournaments in June that provide up-and-coming Brits and international stars with preparation for Wimbledon.
