FTC hosted Southsea Tennis Club on Sunday – a day that proved full of sunshine, fun, close matches and lots of laughs (plus lots of chips at the Bulls Head afterwards!).

Four mixed pairs from each club took part in what, as always, proved to be a really close mixed doubles competition. With 15 matches everyone got a chance to play each opposing pair. Nine matches went Fishbourne’s way and six went to Southsea. Overall the tally was 71 games to Fishbourne, 59 to Southsea, underlining just how closely matched the two clubs are.

Fishbourne was represented by Nikki and David H, Priscilla and Andre, Gilly and Luke, and Susie and Bob.

Afterwards everyone adjourned to a magnificent spread of sandwiches, bowls of chips, soft drinks and lashings of tea (yes, and the occasional beer…) at what is by far the area’s best pub, Fishbourne’s own Bull’s Head where FTC member Paul welcomed us all with open arms.
