Fishbourne took on Southsea Tennis Club in a return match in Blackboy Lane on Sunday 22 November. The morning went very well (writes FTC team captain Lesley Kelly). Everyone enjoyed playing in the sunshine, which kept us warm in the cold snap. We were lucky we got the four courts, court number one was booked out, according to the booking system.
We played first to six, with no tie breaks and sudden death for all games. The result was a tie, at 58 games each.
Timings were very good and we concluded the whole thing around 1pm, when we all ventured over to the social club. The bar was open and we had a collection for Jim Arnold who had done a wonderful job with the ploughman’s lunch. The lunch was very nice and the whole thing was very enjoyable. Everyone was relaxed and felt at home.

It was a lovely morning for us all and the ploughman’s from Jim was just the tonic.
