Around 50 FTC members, many in fancy festive garb, enjoyed a fun morning of tennis, eating and drinking at the mix-in club session at the club on the Saturday before Christmas. A long established FTC tradition, Festive Tennis is always popular but this year fine weather and an excellent turn out ensured it was better than ever.
Katy Bracher dressed very convincingly as a penguin took top fancy dress prize with Jan the Elf a worthy runner-up. They were presented with their winning bottles of bubbly by club treasurer Bryan Doling.
As well as lots of tennis, difficult but not impossible when dressed as a penguin, embers were treated to a range of complimentary festive goodies in the clubhouse including mulled wine (courtesy of past chairman David Lord), home made soup (thanks Kate Gurl), mince pies and a buffet lunch all of which went down a treat with members. A tombola stall stuffed with donated prizes was a sellout.
On behalf of all FTC members, a big thank you to Kate Gurl and her helpers for organising such a fab event.
