Junior players thrive at Fishbourne

There’s never been a better time for junior tennis players at the club. Working with our club coaches from Generation Tennis, young players have the opportunity this summer to take part in a variety of activities and competitions.

These include:

  • A new Junior Club closed competition
  • Plans for a summer barbeque and games on court
  • Priority club sessions
  • The Road to Wimbledon scheme for under 14s and
  • Aegon Under 12s team tennis

And it is in this last event that two Fishbourne juniors are making good progress.

Ben Jameson and Callum Budd are representing the club in the 12U Aegon team tennis junior league and have so far won both their matches, against Henfield TC and Midhurst TC.

Their next match is against Cross in Hand at Fishbourne on Saturday 13 June.

Alex Bone, one of the GT’s head coaches, said Ben and Callum had played beautiful tennis to reach this stage in the league.

“They have been the perfect role models for other juniors at Fishbourne TC,” he added.

“Both boys have played fairly, with respect for their opponents, and have won gracefully. They have represented the club extremely well.”
