Fishbourne Tennis Club Finals Day for the 2022 Championships were held on Saturday 3 September and with fine weather and a good turn out the day was set for excellent on-court action and an enjoyable day for spectators with a barbecue lunch, free ice creams and Pimms stall no one went hungry or thirsty. FTC would like to thank this year’s Championships organiser, Kate Gurl, for a superb job in sometimes trying circumstances.
Kate writes: I’d like to thank you all for coming and supporting this year’s finalists. 54 people entered, 10 withdrew creating 15 walkovers, but even so we managed to get 9 finals played today. Thanks to Alex for doing the seedings, and thanks to Jazz, Dick and Bill for supporting me. Also thanks to the umpires, Katy and Gordon, to the chef, Trevor, and the photographer, Anthony.
And next year Debbie is going to help me, so no more handwritten draws!!
