NEW COMMITTEE MEMBERS NEEDED
Members who would like to get more involved in the running of the club are asked to come forward with a view to joining the committee. There are lots of ways members can use their skills and contribute to the success of the club, and they need not be onerous. Contrary to what you may think, there is only one meeting lasting an hour and half every six weeks or so.

IMPROVEMENTS AT YOUR TENNIS CLUB FOR THE SPRING
Your tennis club is constantly responding to members’ needs in order to keep moving forward. Recent or planned works include moving the practice wall (to avoid the southern end of the court staying damp and slippery, and to avoid ball bounce-back), the installation of sensor lights around the clubhouse, repairs to the fencing and drainage on court 1, and the weeding and rabbit-proofing of court 2. If any members want to help with club maintenance please contact any committee member.

ONLY WEEKS LEFT TO ‘OPT IN’ FOR WIMBLEDON TICKETS
It’s time to tick the box on the LTA website so the club again gets its maximum allocation of tickets to Wimbledon in 2020. You MUST do this before 14 February. Don’t forget, you have to be a paid-up member of FTC and a registered adult or junior British Tennis Member (it’s free) linked to Fishbourne Tennis Club. Then you can go to the LTA website and check the box that says you want to opt-in to the Wimbledon ballot. You have to do this every year. It’s worth doing even if you can’t make Wimbledon this year since the more people who opt in the larger our allocation will be. See the LTA’s FAQs for more information. Log in to the LTA’s Member’s Area here.
