Ping pong, party on
Question. How many players can be involved in a game of table tennis at the same time?
Answer. Thirty if the game is being played between members of Fishbourne Tennis Club.
Perhaps not a Guinness world record but it was certainly the highlight of a fun evening at The Fishbourne Centre.
Several new members joined familiar faces for a more conventional evening of table tennis. The competitive element kicked in but sportsmanship and camaraderie prevailed leading to the all-inclusive knockout game involving every player.
The club’s Quiz Night, scheduled for 14th November, has been postponed until the New year to enable more members, new members and friends to take part. It promises to be a quiz night with a difference so look out for details later.
The headliners for our Barn Dance & Ceilidh on 13th December have been announced (see separate article). With tickets at £15 per person, including a fish and chips supper, we are hoping for a bumper attendance to mark the end of an eventful year on court and the prospect of an even busier year in 2015.
And what better way to prepare for the exertions and excesses of the festive season than by dressing up in silly costumes and trying to play tennis at the club’s Christmas Fancy Dress event on Saturday 20th December.
There will be prizes for the best Christmas costume – but a bit of tinsel topping is just as welcome. Sprigs of holly are best avoided for obvious reasons!
All welcome with play followed by a buffet lunch and hot punch.
