No, not to light the things…more to help with a bit of crowd control and, most important, shake a bucket under the noses of the visitors so they can pay up!
If you have never been, the Fishbourne fireworks display – this year on Friday 7 November – really does go with a bang. It’s the biggest display in the area and attracts people from miles around. In the past several thousand people have attended.
Entry is by donation only, with all proceeds going to the registered charity that is the Fishbourne Playing Field Association. Volunteers are needed to help direct the crowds and collect the dosh in buckets provided.
