The last opt-in date is 23 February.
TENNIS WITH THE KIDS
Do you have children (or grandchildren) who play? Would you like to partner with them against similar pairings? In order to create more opportunities for juniors to play at the club, we are sounding out members to see if there is enough support to trial a multi-generation club session.
The idea is that under 16s bring along a parent (or grandparent) of their choice to play friendly but competitive tennis against other similar pairs in a dedicated club session, perhaps on a Sunday morning. If this is something you would support drop an email to [email protected]
P&D SUMMER LEAGUE 2018
It’s not far off! Which is why the club is thinking now about which teams to field and who the players are captains will be. We have had seven teams in the Portsmouth & District winter league 2017/18, with many notable successes – mid-season league updates are on the noticeboard in the clubhouse.
Stepping down as captains for the summer league (temporarily, we hope) are Sue Lord in the Masters mixed doubles, and Sam Hart in the men’s number one team. If you would like to play for one of the teams in the summer tournament, or want to know more about being a captain, talk to Sue or Sam, or the other captains – Elizabeth Williams, Cressida Williams, Mandy Davies, Dick Nicholson and Kate Gurl – or email [email protected]
