The band was great, the buffet was terrific, the dancing was…well, we all did our best. And overall it was a great night as FTC members and friends let their hair down for a pre-Christmas bash in the Fishbourne Centre hall. FTC snapper-in-chief Nikki Holden was there with her camera…see her pictures below.
FTC members should be aware that events like this do not happen by magic. They are put on by FTC members like you. All are volunteers and unpaid. These people all too often go unthanked as well, which is something we can put right here by sending the person who made this party go with such a swing a big thank you and well done: take a bow Nicola Dawtrey. How she managed to hire a hall, pay for a top band and buy all that food for £17 a head is one of the mysteries of the universe.
Nicola was of course aided in this year’s production by a fab crew of mostly women members and to all of them a big thanks from the club. Thanks too to the Dell Keys, a local band known to many members who certainly struck the right note, with the dancefloor busy from the first song to the last.
Next FTC event: Festive tennis (silly jumpers to full-on fancy dress if you so desire) and mulled wine at club session 9-12 on Saturday 22 December followed by Christmas/New Members’ Reception in the Fishbourne Centre hall with pay bar and complimentary buffet. No need to book, just turn up!
