The sun shone, the flags were up, the courts looked great, the barbecue sizzled and a large crowd of FTC members, friends and family all made the club’s Finals Day 2018 one to remember. But chiefly it was the finalists themselves who put on some excellent displays of tennis and contributed the most to the massive success of this year’s championships. There were some truly nail-biting matches.
All FTC members please remember a day like this does not happen by accident, and that everyone who helped make it such a success volunteered to do so. So thanks to everyone who contributed, and especially to competition organisers Mandy Davies and Bill Cove, trophy organiser David Lord, lunch providers Trevor Bracher and Sue Bargery, and Gareth Price for awarding the gongs.
