Courts to reopen from 2 December

Dear FTC member

Get ready, get set…PLAY! Tennis is back in Fishbourne. And for many FTC members the chance to get outside and have a hit with friends won’t come a moment too soon.

In line with the lifting of the lockdown and implementation of the new Tier 2 rules that apply in Sussex, FTC courts will again be available for play from Wednesday morning, 2 December.

Members’ online court booking is now open – you must book a court before turning up to play. And please do not forget to sign in/scan the NHS Track and Trace app when you arrive. You can play with a guest but the guest fee must be paid.

Please continue to use your own balls. The clubhouse is to remain closed. Floodlights are available to members, switch on in the box outside the clubhouse; the code remains the same as that for the court locks.

In addition to your own privately arranged games, there will be a mix-in club session every Saturday morning between 9-1pm commencing Saturday 5 December. No need to book in for this; just turn up and play, first come, first on court.

It is hoped the fun Sunday afternoon American Tournaments  will restart shortly and a separate note from Pammi about this will follow soon.

Tennis coaching can resume and Alex Bone will be contacting members of his coaching groups separately with details.

So we can all go on enjoying tennis we must follow the rules:

  • Rule of six: no groups of people larger than this
  • Track and Trace: either sign in or scan the NHS app
  • Do not come to the club if you feel unwell
  • Maintain social distance before, during and after play. Remember: Hands, Face, Space
  • Use hand sanitiser provided on each court

Keep well and get back out on court!

Your FTC committee
